Camping

We had our first family camping trip this memorial day weekend and had such a great time. We went with our good friends, Jason and Jessica, and their 3 kids, and Evan and Kimmy and the twins. Since this was the first time camping for Ashlyn, Easton, and Kamryn we decided to stay a little close to home and went to Rainbow Falls State Park (about 30 min from home). I hadn't been there since I was in elementary school so I didn't remember too much about it, but it was really nice. The weather was amazing for memorial day weekend and Ashlyn did awesome so it made for great weekend. We bought a trailer earlier this year so it was also nice to be able to take a hot shower every day. Since we were so close to home, we had a bunch of people come out to visit us on Saturday and Sunday too. Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Messin' Around

We used to be able to give Ashlyn a bath every third night since she can't get around just yet so she doesn't really get dirty. However, since we have started her on solids bath nights happen a lot more often! She's actually doing pretty good with eating from a spoon, but the other night things got pretty messy!

I used to try and keep her from getting her hands in the food and in her mouth, but it's no use. And really, who cares? It's nothing a quick bath can't fix. And speaking of baths, the little monkey's new favorite trick is to kick her legs like crazy in the bath and watch the water splash everywhere. We have now moved bathtime from the kitchen sink to the bathtub!

Mother's Day

This year was my very first Mother's Day and it was such a great day. We had a BBQ at our house for all the family and close friends. Before everyone got there Aaron gave me my gifts from him and Ashlyn. I got a Macy's gift card and a really cool picture frame. It was engraved at the top with "Happy 1st Mother's Day" and at the bottom read "Love Ashlyn Leigh." I'm planning on putting a special picture of Ashlyn and I in it and leaving it on my new nightstand. I was very touched, and the fact that Aaron actually went to the mall for me says a lot!

Here are some pictures of the day...

BFF's and new grandmas, Sue and Terry - I don't know how they do it, but they always seem to match!
